Public transportation to the conference venue (MPS)

The Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research is conveniently accessible by public transportation from the train station. The closest bus stop, "Kellnerweg", is served by bus lines 21 and 22. Single-ride tickets can be purchased directly on the bus for €2.40.
Note: Some hotels offer bus tickets to their guests.


Travel to Göttingen

Göttingen is located in the middle of Germany and is easily accessible by car and by fast train (Intercity Express (ICE)).


By plane

Frankfurt and Hannover Airports are the two closest airports to Göttingen. The journey, Franfurt Airport <-> Göttingen takes approximately two hours, and approx. 30 min from Hannover Airport <-> Göttingen.

Frankfurt Airport offers connections to Göttingen via both high-speed Intercity Express (ICE) trains and regional trains. From Frankfurt Central Station (Hauptbahnhof, Hbf), direct trains to Göttingen (towards Hamburg or Berlin) depart every two to four hours.

Hannover Aiport is the closest to Göttingen. Frequent S-Bahn (suburban train) services connect the airport to the Central Station (Hauptbahnhof, Hbf). From the Central Station, frequent high-speed Intercity Express (ICE) trains depart for Göttingen.
